Robin of Ladram today left for the Eastern channel to take up guardship work; this is in support of the IFA2 project connecting the UK and France. The Robin of Ladram’s role in the project is to protect shipping from the cable lay.

IFA2 is an electricity inter connector between the electricity transmission systems of different countries. The Inter connector will be capable of exchanging 1,000MW of power between Britain and France, enough to run around over 1,000,000 homes. The inter connector is made up of undersea cables running for more than 100 miles between the two countries which would connect at either end to a converter station.

Whilst Waterdance’s principle business is fishing, on occasion fleet takes up other opportunities as they arise.
