Brixham Skipper Ed Tooley and his crew run the Miranda of Ladram (previously known as Our Miranda) in September 2013 and as a team they still operate the vessel today. In 2004 the vessel was fitted with a new main engine that was of the new generation of electronic fuel-controlled engines that achieve lower emissions which together with a new center-line of gearbox, larger propellor and nozzle fuel efficiencies were achieved which resulted in a fuel reduction together with much lower emissions. At the same time the stern was enclosed to provide better crew facility’s and seakeeping qualities.
Since 2015 the Miranda of Ladram has had further extensive modernization works, mainly aimed at modernizing and improving crew working and living conditions. All the works were completed to a high standard by the Luyt shipyard in Holland that recently completed the Waterdance newbuild Georgina of Ladram. The works have has included replacing her wheelhouse, fish room and crew cabins to provide comforts and working conditions that only the most modern vessels have such as full air conditioning in cabins and galley.
