About
WINTER OF LADRAM
The Winter of Ladram is the newest vessel in the fleet. She was launched in early July 22 with sea trials and final delivery exactly a month later. She was built at Parkols Whitby yard for Waterdance. Named after one of the directors granddaughters, ‘Winter’, she is the second vessel to be built in Whitby, the first being the Amanda of Ladram built in 2021. Winter of Ladram operates across South-West and Mid-Channel fishing grounds, making landings in Brixham, Salcombe and Newlyn, depending on the fishing area. Catches are landed to GHM Salcombe.

Winter of Ladram is a 21.0 metre crabber designed by Ian Paton at S C McAllister & Co Ltd and has a similar hull to that of the Amanda of Ladram. She is of round bilge form with a transom stern, bulbous bow with an overall length of 21.0m, a registered length of 16.49m, a beam of 7.7metres and a tonnage of 218 Tonnes. A unique feature of Winter of Ladram is that she has been designed with over 3 metres of headroom under the shelter deck to ensure plenty of stowage space for pots when shifting grounds. As well as the fishing gear carrying capacity, there is also a large rope pound forward, with space to carry everything needed for half a dozen strings of pots, making the process of shifting gear from one spot to another easier and safer. The Winter of Ladram represents a new generation of fishing vessel with a unique design on the traditional south-west crabber focusing on safety and comfort for the crew.
